The newest version of 3CX is coming soon! With the new update comes new features, changes, and more. Here’s what major changes you can expect to find in your phone system soon.

Departments

You will be able to assign each extension to a Department, such as Sales, Reception, Management, and more. With the new department feature, each section can have its own office hours and holidays. Extensions can be assigned to multiple departments for those employees that cover many areas of the business.

Desktop App

The desktop app is also getting a redesign. The BLF panel will be more compact and have a user-friendly interface. It will show a list of initials instead of the full name so it takes less space on the screen. You can hover over the initials to see the full name.

There will also be a new Windows pop-up window to inform you of an incoming call. It will behave more like a desk phone, displaying the caller’s name and the call queue they are in.

Other Features

The mobile app for iOS and Android will receive minor updates to improve the delays of incoming calls. This will help you receive calls in real time. The web client is also receiving a new, shortened link to go to.
